Complex Regional Pain Syndrome

Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a type of chronic pain that is typically felt in the arms or legs. While CRPS is uncommon, and its cause often isn’t clear, it’s been found to occur after an injury or due to damage to the peripheral and central nervous systems.

Symptoms for CRPS can vary between people and may change over time. Initial symptoms can include pain, swelling, sensitivity to touch or cold temperatures, and sudden changes in skin color.
